Things to consider when booking Seoul Incheon International Airport hotels
Why stay at the airport when the Seoul Airport Limousine buses and AREX train are so efficient and economical?
Well, the first AREX trains from Incheon Airport to the city do not start running until just after 5am, and trains to the airport from the city usually don’t start until 6am.

So if you have an international flight departing from Incheon Airport before 9am, you’re best to either stay at a nearby Incheon airport hotel, or take a taxi / airport transfer from your downtown Seoul hotel.
Note that Seoul Airport Limousine buses usually start running from downtown to the airport at 4am – read our Seoul airport bus guide here >

Just remember to factor in Seoul rush hour traffic too which will make the journey longer – sometimes it is just easier to stay at a hotel near Seoul Incheon Airport.
Also, if you’re arriving late and just want to unwind, airport hotels are a good bet, so that you are ready to hit Seoul fresh and early in the morning.

Booking South Korea Incheon hotels – top tips
Once you are ready to start booking your Incheon hotel, there are a few general rules and tips:
- Peak season in Korea is generally classed as the summer months but you’ll also find room rates are likely higher in the winter because of Christmas in Seoul, public holidays and cherry blossom season (usually in April).
- We find agoda.com, booking.com, expedia.com and trip.com have the best room rates for South Korea / Incheon hotels. Check out our Korea travel resources page >

- Online rates for Seoul hotels are generally better than booking in person. We even had a situation where we tried to extend a Seoul hotel booking at the reception (Venue G Hotel) and the staff kindly informed us we should book it on Agoda instead as it would be cheaper!
- If possible, book your Incheon hotel rooms several months in advance as the room rates tend to increase in the months before you arrive – also consider making use of the ‘cancellable’ room options that some hotel booking sites have like Agoda.
- We watch room rate prices in Seoul a lot and they generally rise the closer you get to arrival – some go up a lot in price, especially Myeongdong and Hongdae. So book well in advance if you can.
