Klook South Korea Deals, Day Tours and Tickets / Is Klook Legit?

A couple of common questions in our South Korea Travel Tips Facebook group is whether Klook is legit and what is the best place to buy South Korea tours and day-trips.

We’ve been using Klook for many years without a hitch, alongside other reputable travel websites like Get Your GuideViator and Trazy.

This post may contain affiliate links to tours and hotels. These help us earn a small commission at no additional charge to you.

KLOOK KOREA APP

Using travel service providers and online travel companies is an easy way to book tours, accommodation, Korean SIM Cards and transfers in advance, knowing the price up-front and Klook is one of the best.

We love using agoda.com, expedia.com and booking.com for researching and booking all our hotels, and Hostelworld for booking hostels.

For booking tours, transfers and SIM cards we recommend Get Your GuideViator, Trazy or Klook.

What is Klook and is it legit?

Klook has been around since 2014 and is an online travel platform where you can book South Korea travel experiences plus all over the world.

It sells tours, services and day trips from other travel companies (so Klook doesn’t actually run the tours – it is more of a reseller).

KLOOK KOREA WEBSITE

Based on our experiences, Klook is 100% legit and also offers a full refund if you decide to cancel within the specified cancellation window – you usually receive your full money back a few days later.

We use Klook regularly especially on transport in Seoul like bus tickets or KTX tickets – plus we’ve used it for various day trips from Seoul or tours in areas where public transport isn’t so good like Jeju Island.

Klook South Korea discounts and sales

Another great thing is there are often great Klook South Korea deals, sometimes up to 50% off (this is a regular saving for instance, if you book your Everland tickets a month in advance).

They also often have Klook year end specials or Klook Black Friday deals.

We also compile the best Klook South Korea deals every month in our South Korea Hallyu monthly newsletter which you can sign up for here >

Why book with Klook?

A few reasons why we often book with Klook:

Easy booking and cancellation process

The website is easy to use once you’ve created an account. Your booking confirmation comes through instantly and if you change your mind, just log-in, cancel your booking and your money is automatically returned to your account in a few days.

Pay in your own currency

You can pay in your home currency on Klook. This overcomes any problems you might experience withdrawing money or paying for products with your own card in South Korea (as sometimes they might get declined – which has happened to us in Korea a few times).

Book ahead to avoid disappointment

We always recommend booking hotels and tours well in advance (especially those in Seoul and Busan) and by booking through Klook, you know that your tour / special trip should be guaranteed (unless they haven’t met minimum numbers which is very rare).

Overcomes the language barrier

Klook is available in multiple languages so you don’t need to worry about reading small print in Korean – and you can often select tours in your preferred language. The options are likely Japanese, English and Mandarin.

Disadvantages of Klook

At present, the one gripe we occasionally get about Klook is the minimum booking policy – this is when a certain tour needs a minimum number of confirmed passengers to go ahead.

Also please note most Klook products need to be booked at least one to two days in advance – we’ve had several people desperately trying to find DMZ tours the day before which usually isn’t possible on any travel booking platform.

Top 10 most booked Klook Seoul products

As we run this website and our South Korea Facebook group with over 100,000 members, we see what Klook products people book regularly.

Check out the Klook Korean SIM card range here >

2. Airport transfers

From Seoul airport limousine bus tickets to private transfers from airports like Jeju Island and Incheon, Klook is a great and reliable source for South Korea airport transfers.

Popular Klook Seoul tours and activities

Based on the bookings we see and the questions we get in our Facebook group, these are the most popular Klook Seoul activities to prebook online:

4. DMZ tour from Seoul

Possibly the most ‘famous’ day trip from Seoul, the DMZ is the heavily controlled border separating North and South Korea.

Given the history and complex relationship of North and South Korea, a tour is an interesting way to learn about this important piece of history – and note that you cannot do this independently; you must be accompanied by a tour guide.

2025 Update – the DMZ JSA area has now partially reopened and can be booked online.

Read our guide to DMZ tours and book a DMZ tour via Klook >

5. Nami Island (day trip from Seoul)

Nami Island is home to wonderful woodland walks along the river, beautiful landscapes and an incredible array of wildlife including hundreds of wild rabbits.

Read our Nami Island guide and book a Nami Island tour with Klook.

6. Discover Seoul Pass

There are lots of things to do in Seoul, including multiple tourist attractions from family theme parks to historic Royal palaces – or you can get around Seoul in style aboard boat cruises and hop-on hop off bus tours. But what if you could pay one price to do them all?

Check out our review of the Discover Seoul Pass and then book it here on Klook.

7. Lotte World Tower and Seoul Sky

Get high in Seoul – Lotte World Tower is the tallest tower in South Korea (and the sixth tallest in the world). It opened to great fanfare in 2017 and offers incredible panoramic views of the Seoul skyline.

Book your Lotte World Tower tickets here >

8. Hanbok Photography / Traditional Korean Costume Rental

The Royal Palaces of Seoul are a must visit when visiting South Korea’s capital – many visitors hire hanboks and traditional Korean costumes whilst exploring these historic sites.

Read our guide to hanbok photography or book your hanbok photography session on Klook.

9. NANTA show

This world renowned comedy cooking show has been packing in audiences worldwide since 1997.

Possibly the best known Korean theatre show, NANTA Theatre has been performed over 50,000 times in over 60 countries and is a fun mix of slapstick and physical comedy.

There are very few spoken words used throughout so not understanding Korean (or English) won’t be an issue.

P.S. We really like the The Painters show too, the world’s first live painting show combined with music. It is on 7 nights a week in Seoul at 8pm (and 2pm and 5pm). Book The Painters tickets with Klook >

10. K-Pop tours

Follow in the footsteps of your favourite K-Pop idols with these Seoul K-Pop tours.

Popular Klook South Korea tours outside Seoul

Some of the other activities outside of Seoul that South Korea travellers purchase on Klook are

Visit Busan Pass

Save money on Busan attractions with the Visit Busan Pass!

Newly launched and very similar to the highly successful Discover Seoul Pass, the Visit Busan Pass provides ‘free’ access to a selection of 30 tourism attractions in Busan for 24/48 hours.

Check out our review of the Visit Busan Pass and then book it here on Klook.

Busan Haeundae Blue Line / Sky Capsules

The Haeundae Blue Line Park is one of Busan’s newest tourist attractions, opening in late 2020 and consisting of the iconic Sky Capsules and a separate Beach Train that follows the Busan Green Railway coastal walking trail.

The 5km coastal Beach Train journey starts from Haeundae Beach’s Mipo Station to Dalmaji Tunnel, Cheongsapom Daritdol Skywalk (very cool and free), Gudeokpo and Songjeong, taking about 30 minutes, and gives stunning unspoilt views of East Busan’s coastline.

Read our guide to the Haeundae Blue Line and book Busan Sky Capsule tickets here.

Jeju Island tours / car rental

We love Jeju Island with its beautiful beaches and lush tropical landscapes. South Korea’s most idyllic island getaway, Jeju is a popular holiday spot but many of its natural attractions are hard to visit without a car.

We saw lots of Jeju by taking two Jeju tours booked with Klook or you could do car rental on Jeju Island.

K Beauty

Colour analysis, hair salons, skin treatments and K-Pop beauty regimes are all popular K-beauty services you can book in advance online.

Alternatives to Klook

Should you not wish to use Klook, the other main alternatives are:
