Haeundae Beach is one of the best Busan neighborhoods to stay for first time South Korea travellers or return visitors.

Haeundae Beach Hotels

Easily one of Busanโ€™s best beaches, staying in a Haeundae hotel or apartment is great if you want a blissful Busan beach break (try saying that after several sojus).

From beachside bars to charming coastal walks, sand festivals to sublime panoramic views, there are a lot of things to do in Haeundae Beach, Busan – best of all, there are lots of Haeundae hotels big and small to suit all budgets.

Why choose Haeundae hotels to stay in?

Weโ€™d recommend checking out our Busan neighborhoods guide which lists over 10 different districts weโ€™d suggest visiting or staying in whilst in Busan including Seomyeon and Nampo / BIFF Square.

However, in terms of the best places to stay in Busan, Haeundae takes some beating especially if you want a beach break (we rate it over Gwangalli Beach, as there are more attractions on your doorstep plus the Metro access is better).

It is also a great spot to do coastal walks plus there are lots of great food places at night, plus fresh seafood to enjoy.

Haeundae is great for shopping and has several major shopping malls like Shinsegae Department Store, Centum plus it has all your favourite Korean chain stores like Olive Young and Daiso.

Some say Haeundae is a tourist trap which might be true, but it is a fun place to stay. If youโ€™d rather something more in the city with lots of night-time choices , we would recommend Seomyeon or Nampo neighborhoods instead.

Booking South Korea Haeundae hotels โ€“ top tips

Once you are ready to start booking your Haeundae hotel(s), there are a few general rules and tips:

  • Peak season in Korea is generally classed as the summer months but youโ€™ll also find room rates are likely higher in the winter because of Christmas in Busan, public holidays and cherry blossom season (usually in April). Haeundae also has festivals (like the sandcastle festival) when room rates will rocket – so check ahead.
  • We find agoda.comexpedia.com and booking.com have the best room rates for South Korea / Haeundae hotels.

  • Online rates for Busan hotels are generally better than booking in person. We even had a situation where we tried to extend a hotel booking at the reception in Seoul and the staff kindly informed us we should book it on Agoda instead as it would be cheaper!
  • A lot of Hongdae hotels are more apartment style stays where tourists stay in rooms / apartments in the same complex as long-term residents – so do your research before booking.
  • If possible, book your Haeundae hotel rooms several months in advance as the room rates tend to increase in the months before you arrive – also consider making use of the โ€˜cancellableโ€™ room options that some hotel booking sites have like Agoda.
  • We watch room rate prices in Busan a lot and they generally rise the closer you get to arrival โ€“ some go up a lot in price, especially Haeundae and Gwangalli. So book well in advance if you can.

Haeundae Beach hotels and accommodation

Here are some highly rated Haeundae hotel and accommodation suggestions for all types of budget:

Grand Josun Busan

If you want a Haeundae hotel directly on the beach itself, look no further than the five star Grand Josun Busan, which was recently remodelled after switching from another hotel brand.

Boasting indoor and outdoor infinity pools, we think this is the BEST place in Busan for a beach break where you are literally overlooking the sand – look up and you can also see the huge and towering Busan X The Sky.

Enjoy the daily buffet breakfast or unwind in the Grand Josun fitness club and sauna – there is also a Josun Junior club for when you are in Busan with kids.

At the time of writing (September 2025), the Grand Josun Busan is rated 9.1 on booking.com.

L7 HAEUNDAE by LOTTE

One of our best ever stays in South Korea was in a Lotte hotel – we loved the huge TV screen with Netflix, electric reclining bed and big room size (compared to other hotels).

If you are looking for a good quality Lotte hotel in Haeundae with a rooftop pool, the L7 Haeundae is for you. As well as ocean facing rooms, there are lots of cool little touches like a laundry and 7-Eleven on level 1.

The rooftop pool has a bar and it is a short walk to the beach itself – this hotel is regularly mentioned in our Facebook group as a good place to stay in Haeundae.

Shilla Stay Haeundae

One of the larger hotels in Haeundae beach with over 400 rooms, Shilla Stay Haeundae has lots of onsite amenities to enjoy after a long day of exploring Busan โ€“ including a rooftop pool and cocktail bar, sauna and fitness center plus another bar in the lobby.

This is one of the more affordable nicer hotels in Haeundae that is close to the beach itself, if you donโ€™t fancy 5* luxury.

Mipo Oceanside Hotel

A highly rated hotel offering both Western and Korean-style rooms – if you want to stay near the beach but not pay huge prices, Mipo Oceanside Hotel in Haeundae might be for you (and it is just a one minute stroll from the beach).

Some of the Mipo rooms have sea views and it is a fairly new hotel, having opened in 2018 and the closest hotel to Haeundae Blueline Park Sky Capsules on our Haeundae hotel list.

Located at the far end of the beach, there are many restaurants, a CU and 7-Eleven all within 30 seconds walk of the hotel entrance.

Haeundae Seacloud Residence

This is the Haeundae hotel we last stayed at. It is a huge mid range hotel located steps away from the beach and close to the Metro station.

Some rooms have an epic sea view and we were lucky enough to get such a room (for a small extra fee) – whilst the room itself was very average, the location is AMAZING and you are just footsteps from the beach

Haeundae Seacloud Residence - Haeundae Beach hotels Busan

Another thing we liked about the Haeundae Seacloud Residence is that it was self-containedand our room had a washing machine (we bought detergent from the nearby Daiso), stove and fridge.

If you like fun Korean bars, there is also a Grandmaโ€™s Beer Bar directly below the hotel which we drank at a few times.

MS Hotel Haeundae

Whilst possibly not the best hotel in Haeundae, MS Hotel is all about the amazing ocean views from the rooms (each of which have a flatscreen TV).

A great crash-pad if you just want somewhere simple and to awake to seaside vistas and still be in the middle of all the Haeundae bars and restaurants.

This is more of an apartment style complex with lots of other businesses and residential areas in the same complex along with a 7-Eleven in the basement.

Best Western Haeundae

A few of our South Korea Travel Tips and Planning Facebook group have mentioned Best Western Haeundae Hotel as a good place to stay with all the essential amenities covered.

Fairfield by Marriott Busan

This is another hotel recommendation by our group members – one even said they liked it as it is so much cheaper than the Seoul Fairfield but of a similar upkeep and quality.

A little further back from the beach than most others featured (but still less than 5 minutes stroll away), Fairfield by Marriott Busan covers all bases for a comfortable stay with a small onsite gym, buffet breakfast and onsite convenience store.

It has controllable air conditioning too but some say the rooms are a little small.
