Busan’s craft beer and brewery bar scene is bustling with some hoppy hangouts and beautiful beachside pubs.

Busan has some brilliant brewery bars, classic craft beer pubs and top taprooms with all manner of beer styles and types. South Korea’s beer scene isn’t just about the bland mass produced beers like Cass or Terra (although yep, they are still widely available).

And remember, always drink sensibly and within moderation, especially if you are planning to visit more than one of Busan’s best craft beer breweries and taprooms in the same evening – cheers / ‘geonbae’!

This Busan brewery craft beer bar and brewery list was updated as of June 2026, when we last drank in Busan – sadly several Busan craft beer bars closed down in 2024 / 25.

Busan Best Breweries and Craft Beer Bars 2026

1. Galmegi Brewing (multiple Busan brewery taprooms)

A Busan brewery born and bred, Galmegi Brewing 갈매기브루잉 started life almost 10 years ago in 2014 as a small microbrewery pub (and Galmegi means ‘Seagull’ in Korean).

Galmegi Brewing now has several taproom and craft beer bar locations in Busan including Haeundae Beach and Nampo – so far, we’ve visited Galmegi Haeundae and Gwangalli. Sadly, we think the Gwangalli Galmegi has now closed down.

Gwangalli Galmegi Brewing (now closed)

Inside at Galmegi Brewing Gwangalli, there was a small balcony looking out across the road (popular with smokers) and brewing merchandise available like beer glasses for 8,000 Won.

Tasting flights of all the Galmegi Brewing craft beers were available – we opted for the Galmegi Brewing stout and IPA; both were impeccable!

Galmegi Brewing Gwangalli, is open from 4pm to 1am most days (opens at 2pm Friday and Saturdays, closed Sundays). Detroit style pizza is also available to enjoy in most of the Galmegi Brewery bars dotted around Busan.

Gwangalli Galmegi Brewing (now closed)

Most recently, we visited Galmegi Brewing Haeundae, a second floor tucked away just a few steps from the main beach.

They had seven of their own Galmegi craft beers on tap plus 8 guest brews – quite the selection (here we discovered Railway Porter from nearby Wildwave Brewing – a top drop!).

Haeundae Galmegi Brewing

All of the core Galmegi Brewing core range are usually available to choose from behind the bar. When we visited, Galmegi’s core range included Busan Lager, Amber Lager, Sea Breeze, Galmegi IPA and Hae, plus a seasonal range consisting of Night Sea, Gupo Manse and Hop Goblin.

Prices ranged from 6,500 to 8,000 Won per craft beer, and samplers / flights of various craft beers were also available.

2. Gorilla Brewing Busan

Gorilla Brewing is a Busan based British craft beer brewery (try saying that after a pint!).

Sadly their Gorilla Brewing Gwangalli Beach taproom closed down in recent years. Their newest branch opened in the LCT The Sharp building overlooking Haeundae Beach a couple of years ago – this must be one of the best located Busan craft beer bars!

Gorilla Brewing Co Craft beer bar in Busan South Korea

Gorilla Brewing has a huge brewery taproom with around 20 different craft beers on tap – as well regular craft beer styles like dark lager and IPAs.

Some of the more unusual craft beers at Gorilla Brewing include Popsicle IPA, Imperial Gose tomato and Hop Bomb DIPA.

We also really liked the cool can designs available from the chiller / fridge next to the bar. There are regular events at Gorilla Brewing including a weekly running club that includes a free pint – talk about motivation!

We tried the pulled pork burger and pork ribs and both were delicious. Go monkey nuts at Gorilla Brewing’s Haeundae brewery craft beer bars in Busan.

3. Wildcat Brewing Co

‘Feline’ like a trip to a cat-themed Busan craft beer brewery?

During our search for the best breweries and craft beer bars in Busan, we struggled to find any Busan brewery taprooms open on a Monday night but thankfully, Wildcat Brewing saw us right.

Located on the outer edges of Busan’s hipster district Seomyeon, Wildcat Brewing is one beautiful Busan brewery and craft beer bar – you get to try their craft beer in a taproom that directly overlooks all the brewing vats at Wildcat Brewing.

Wildcat Brewing Co Craft beer bar in Busan South Korea

We also quite like the fact that all five of the Busan Wildcat Brewing vats onsite were named after the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphel) and their rat master, Splinter – like ‘turtle-ly’ cool man.

And with a name like Wildcat Brewing, we’d hoped for some cat themed beers and merchandise and we were not disappointed.

Some of their core craft beer range includes Chill Cat Cold IPA (6.5%), Perfect Paws IPA and Beer by AI – we also were served our craft beers in Wildcat Brewing Co branded glasses (one cool cat!)

At Wildcat Brewing Co’s Busan beer bar and taproom, you can also try craft beers from other breweries here including Busan based Galmegi and Wildwave breweries.

Craft beer breweries from Seoul included Amazing Brewing and ArtMonster are also represented here. Ranch Brewing craft beer who have an outlet in Euljiro are also represented.

We opted for a tasting tray at Wildcat Brewing which was any three beers (170ml each) from the extensive and ever changing craft beer menu for 10,000 Won – very good value and you also get free prawn crackers. The Wildcat 6.8% Bliss IPA was the standout craft beer here for us. Cheers to that!

4. 주든 SÜDEN Craftbeer

A cute and cosy craft beer bar, we discovered 주든 SÜDEN Craftbeer on our latest 2026 Busan trip – a bit like having a beer in someone’s front room (in a good way), it is a popular spot with local workers and young couples.

주든 SÜDEN Craftbeer

A German style brewery with some European food offerings, we like to think of 주든 SÜDEN Craftbeer as a little bit of Bavaria in Busan. And based on some of the reviews, quite a few locals think this is the best craft beer bar in Gwangalli.

주든 SÜDEN Craftbeer

The bar staff here were absolutely lovely explaining to us all the beer types in perfect English and they made us feel very welcome – this is definitely somewhere we will return to every time we are back in Gwangalli. Prost!

5. Beer Shop Jeonpo / Seomyeon, Busan

One of the best craft beer bars in Busan and from one of the brains behind Gorilla Brewing, this British style craft beer shop has one of the biggest selection of craft beers in Busan (both on draft and in the chillers).

Beer Shop Seomyeon, Busan
Beer Shop Seomyeon, Busan

We lasted visited Beer Shop in Seomyeon in October 2023 during their Halloween celebrations (although we opted for Gorilla Brewing beers as opposed to their Zombie IPA or other spooky ‘spirits’) – the place was even bedecked with pumpkins filled full of Haribo sweets – bonus!

We also really like the outdeck deck at Beer Shop Seomyeon, especially on a warm summer’s evening, working our way through the craft beer taps.

Beer Shop Seomyeon, Busan

From Craft Bros to Samuel Smiths, Omnipollo to Toppling Brews, dozens of international breweries are featured at Busan’s Beer Shop. South Korea breweries (particularly Busan craft beer breweries) feature heavily including Wildcat Brewing, Gorilla Brewing, Seoul Brewery and Artmonster.

All can be enjoyed inside or in the concrete terrace area outside plus beer snacks include pastrami / Reuben sandwiches and burgers plus chicken tenders – nom!

6. Space ONEZ

The Busan craft beer bar that got away – sadly, we tried to visit Space ONEZ in Yeongdo one Sunday evening but they were closed for a private function and hadn’t mentioned it on their social channels.

So we can’t tell you first-hand whether it is good or bad, but we did get a glimpse of the interiors which looked nice.

It is renowned for its food and live music nights plus incredibly strong belgian beers like Delirium Tremens and Boone Brewery Gueuze – so we may well check it out on our next visit to Busan!

Address: 214 Bongnaenaru-ro, Yeongdo-gu, Busan, South Korea

7. Bronx Brewery, Gwangalli

We first discovered Busan’s Bronx Brewery at the Busan Craft Beer Festival – based out of Gwangalli Beach with a bar overlooking the beach, several of their beers reference their incredible setting including their ‘Lager on the Beach’.

Bronx Brewery, Gwangalli Busan

Brewing everything from Golden Ales to Stouts and Wort Lagers, Bronx brewery has an eclectic line-up of craft beers. However, we went back in May 2026 and whilst the beer was fine, we really didn’t enjoy your pizza.

We also think the online reviews are a bit skewed as they offer free beers in return for positive Google / Naver reviews – hmmm. Go for the brews with views, not the food.

It also has one of the longest opening hours of any Gwangalli Beach bar, churning out craft beer and chicken every day from 11am to 2am.

8. Taprooms  / bars at Millac The Market, Gwangalli

Overlooking the harbor at Gwangalli Beach with huge bay windows facing towards the ocean and Millak Port, Millac the Market is a popular Gwangan food market and contemporary cultural space, located on the site of a former fish market.

Naked Ape Taproom at Millac The Market, Gwangalli

There used to be a Naked Ape brewery bar at Millac The Market from the Gorilla Brewing Team- but on our last visit in May 2026, it seems to have gone but there are still several bars onsite.

The Busan craft beers at Millac can be enjoyed with fries or popcorn whilst sitting and listening to the musicians and buskers who perform in the auditorium just in front of the bar.

Spend an afternoon at Millac The Market combining South Korean street food delights with other international eats and draft craft beer goodness.

9. Abnormal Taphouse and Cantina, Haeundae (closed)

2026 update – Abnormal Taphouse has now closed down

An ‘Abnormal’ day in Busan – a recent visit to Abnormal Tap House & Cantina is a good way to finish off a day of coastal walks or after some sublime sunset views on the beach.

Abnormal Taphouse and Cantina, Haeundae Beach Craft beer bar in Busan South Korea

Located literally just a few yards away from the beach, Busan’s Abnormal Taproom has 12 taps plus free popcorn. On our first visit, we tried the Magpie Brewing Pale Ale and Hand and Malt Mocha Stout.

More recently, we were in Busan on a Tuesday evening so decided to pop along to Abnormal Taphouse for their Taco Tuesday – man, it was busy!

But their tacos are so damn tasty so we can see understand why – and at only 3,000 per taco (of 3,500 for soft tacos), this has to be one of the top cheap eats in Busan (and perfect to pair with a craft beer or three).

Abnormal Taphouse and Cantina, Haeundae Beach Craft beer bar in Busan South Korea

We got chatting to the owner of Abnormal Taphouse and he told us about his time spent in the UK (or Harry Potter land as he called it) and in the States (hence many American style IPAs on the menu).

All of the craft beers (plus Terra!) are listed on the red brick wall behind the bar on interchangeable black chalk boards. Galmegi, Oskar Blues, Dancing Cider and even Pilsner Urquell were also available when we visited Abnormal Taphouse bar in Busan.

One of the smallest craft beer bars in Busan, there were a handful of tables inside at Abnormal Taphouse or a larger outdoor beer terrace that looks towards the beach.

10. Wild Wave Brew Sour Yeongdo (Closed)

2026 Update – we think all Wild Wave locations are now closed. BOOO

Busan craft beer bars don’t come with a much better view than Wild Wave Brew’s Sour Yeongdo taproom, Busan’s newest craft beer bar and taproom which officially opened in May 2023. With views of the Busan Port harbour area (cranes and all), this is one top taproom spot.

Specialising in sour beers and founded in 2015, Wild Wave Brew’s flagship beers include their Surleim Dry Hopped Sour (5.3% ABV), Sunset Pale Ale, Yuzu Surleim and Passionade Berliner Weisse.

They also do more traditional non sour drinks like Railroad Stout and Blackhole Porter. Wild Wave Brew in Busan also pride themselves on their seasonal collab craft beers like the recent Godfather Coffee Beer, which is a brown ale flavoured with coffee from Caffe Themselves.

Address: Wild Wave Brew Busan, SOUR YEONGDO, 8F, Ketti Bongnae, 115 Bongnae-dong 2-ga, Yeongdo-gu, Busan

11. Busan Craft Beer Festival

A special mention to the annual Busan craft beer festival which takes place annually at BEXCO – our most recent visit to Busan coincided with the Busan beer festival so we thought it would be rude not to pop along. In 2026, it took place from 22 – 31 May 2026.

Busan Craft Beer Festival BEXCO

This is a great way to check out Busan breweries like Galmegi, Gorilla and Wildcat Breweries as well as experiencing other South Korean craft beer breweries like Whasoo Brewery and Bubble Chemistry. In addition, there are also several highball bars to raise your ‘spirits.

Busan Craft Beer Festival BEXCO

The Busan Craft Beer Festival at BEXCO was also the first ever brewery fest we’ve been to that had a magician plus an opera singer.

Free to visit and very well organised with loads of Korean street food stalls, this is one of the best beer festivals we’ve ever been to.

13. Craft Hans Seomyeon

Focusing more on craft beer bottles than craft draft, Craft Hans is a handy and hoppy hang-out in Seomyeon that also has an extensive bar snack and food menu.

Located on the second floor, there is a soju bar and BBQ place on the ground floor meaning you could have a big night out in Busan here.

14. Slice of Life (SOL) Taphouse

Part craft beer pub, part pizza place, the Slice of Life Taphouse is located along Gwangalli Beach, with waterside views to accompany your pizza wedges.

For brews with views and American style pizza, enjoy a ‘Slice of Life’ in Busan.
